Advice & Support to Parents

As a former teacher, headteacher, adviser and schools inspector, Jane has always been committed to parental involvement programmes based on the firm belief that children achieve to the best of their ability when parents, teachers and tutors work together to provide a postive learning experience.

Parental support is provided through:-

•	Feedback on their child's attainment following the initial assessment and discussion of tuition options
•	Regular feedback on their child's attainment/progress in Maths, English/Verbal/Non Verbal Reasoning
•	Opportunities to view and discuss study books and work books used in our tuition sessions and our large collection of other recommended books that are available to purchase. With a wealth of books available to support children's learning as well as preparation for the 11 Plus exam, parents have difficulty in identifying appropriate materials to purchase. It is not unusual for large sums of money to be spent on books that are not always the best options for their children - who may already possess the knowledge and skills that are covered. Some books are also much better than others in supporting the development of key concepts/skills. It is the quality of the books, and their suitabilty for the purpose, that is important.
•	Provision of an Information pack and advice on the structure and expectations of the new CEM 11 Plus exam adopted by Berkshire grammar schools
•	Provision of information and advice about grammar, secondary and independent schools in the Reading, Earley, Woodley, Winnersh and Wokingham areas where required.
